Antihero Rising

Loving the fun and emotional side of the Eddie-Venom relationship with a splash of red symbiotic

The planet is still on the brink of collapse and humans are still disposable – that much hasn’t changed from the first Venom movie. But man and symbiotic (Eddie and Venom) have found a slightly more comfortable setting in which to live and fight crime together.

Although it was delayed by almost a year due to the pandemic, ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ has given us far more of everything – the fights, action, CGI, jokes, emotions and lots more fun!

Eddie wants to gain control of his career and seeks an old interviewee – Cletus Kasady. Things turn bad when Kasady bites Eddie’s hand during a prison breakout and ingests a small piece of his symbiote.

Given his history and emotional baggage, Kasady becomes Carnage – a red version and spawn of Venom who loves a good rampage and of course, doesn’t limit his diet preferences to criminals.

Adding a little more trouble to the equation, Venom and Eddie go their separate ways when they can’t resolve one of their usual fights as to why they’re not eating more criminals. Yet, their separation doesn’t last long because their bond is strong and Venom comes back to save the day.

The day in question is when Kasady wed his long-lost childhood friend. There was a lot of fighting with the black and red symbiotes trying to gain control over each other. Venom finally bit the head off Carnage and saved Eddie in the process.

Things seem to return to normal (or so we believe). But actually they don’t!

The post-credits scene of this movie shows some of the most intriguing cinematic moments such as Venom and Eddie on holiday. Venom shares a taste of the ‘80 billion light-years’ of knowledge that he carries as a symbiote. The two are transported to another universe in a blinding light and they watch J. Jonah Jameson reveal Spider-Man’s identity as Peter Parker on television!
