Here are the winners of IFPI 2020

1 BTS

K-pop phenomenon, South Korean boy band BTS was named the 2020 IFPI Global Recording Artiste of the Year. The first ever winner to perform in a language other than English, BTS is also the first South Korean and Asian act to grab this prestigious title.

2 Taylor Swift

American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift came in second place after swooping up the award in 2014 and 2019.

3 Drake

Also a two-time winner, Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, producer and entrepreneur Drake fell to third place after winning in 2016 and 2018.

4 The Weeknd

Canadian singer, songwriter and record producer The Weeknd is back on the list at fourth place but did secure the IFPI Global Digital Single Award for his hit single Blinding Lights.

5 Billie Eilish

Back on the list for the second consecutive time in the top five is American singer, songwriter and pop sensation Billie Eilish.

6 Eminem

He is back on the list with a surprise album release this year. Best-selling music artiste of all time Eminem is the first artiste in history to debut 10 albums consecutively at number one in the US.

7 Post Malone

American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor Post Malone dropped to seventh place from being in the top five in 2019 and 2018.

8 Ariana Grande

Sitcom star and singer, Ariana Grande is back to eighth place this year. Collaborating with big names in 2020, her sixth studio album and new singles had her rising in the charts.

9 Juice WRLD

A fitting tribute following his tragic death in late 2019, Juice WRLD’s posthumously released chart topping album Legends Never Die placed him at ninth place.

10 Justin Bieber

Coming in at 10th place, Canadian singer Justin Bieber released his fifth studio album Changes, along with a series of singles that gave him his seventh top album in the US.
